Grandridge Dental is proud to provide patients with custom-fit veneers that are designed to enhance the look of a person’s teeth. Veneers consist of wafer-like shells that are placed over the surface of one’s teeth in order to correct noticeable flaws and improve their appearance. Because of their overall simplicity and versatility, veneers are an extremely popular cosmetic dental treatment.
There is a wide variety of cosmetic dental applications for veneers, including:
- Color adjustments
- Correct crooked or misshapen teeth
- Repair teeth that are chipped or damaged
- Adjust the size of teeth
Veneers feature an ultra-thin design, making them virtually undetectable to others. Instead, they offer the full appearance of healthy, white tooth enamel. Since veneers are constructed with special stain-resistant materials, they are not prone to discolorations from tobacco products or beverages such as coffee and wine. Veneers are designed to last for a full decade with proper care. The experts at Grandridge Dental are strong advocates of porcelain veneers because of the material’s natural appearance and great functionality.
Receiving custom-fit veneers requires two visits to our clinic. The process starts by shaving off some of the enamel of the designated tooth so the veneer can be fitted properly. Next, impressions of the tooth are taken, and the exact coloring of the veneer is determined. These impressions are used to construct a customized veneer in a dental laboratory. The patient will receive a temporary restoration that is designed to last until the custom veneer has been constructed.
Once the custom veneer is ready, the patient will return for their follow-up visit. The temporary restoration will be removed, and the tooth will be cleaned and treated with etching gel so the new veneer can be applied. Using a special dental adhesive, the veneer will be bonded to the surface of the tooth. After the process is completed, the patient will be provided with special instructions on how to care for their newly-installed veneer.
